Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s where she took flute lessons as well as the harpsichord for three consecutive years. Lennox was able to survive on a student's stipend working part-time in order to supplement her earnings. Lennox did not feel happy with the quality of her performance compared with other students at the Royal Academy and began looking to find alternative routes. Lennox played flute in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. She quit the band before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent contest. Between 1977 and 1980 she sang in The Tourists. A British pop band from the UK. She met Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox then went on to record her solo debut album Diva. It was released in 1992. It was a huge success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album came out in October of 2014. The C.D. Lennox compiled her top soul jazz blues tracks from childhood. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox has released Lepidoptera an album comprising four tracks improvised by piano. The E.P. The E.P. is her debut independent album and a companion to the art installation she designed at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art named Now I Let You Go...
